Louis Visscher
Louis Visscher
Dr. Louis Visscher, LL.M. is Associate Professor of Law and Economics at the Rotterdam Institute of Law and Economics (RILE) of the Erasmus School of Law. He studied both Economics
(Erasmus University Rotterdam, 1993) and Law (Erasmus University Rotterdam, 1994, with honours).
He holds a Ph.D. (2005) from the same university. He also is the coordinator of the 'mr.drs.-programma
voor economie en rechten', a six-year study programme at the Erasmus University Rotterdam with which
talented and motivated students can graduate in both law and economics (bachelor and master level).
Louis teaches the course Economic Analysis of Torts and Insurance in the European Master programme in Law and Economics
(EMLE). Furthermore, he teaches in the Dutch course on Law and Economics in the third year of the Rotterdam law bachelor.
He provides guest lectures on game theory, damages for fatal and non-fatal injuries and liability of financial supervisors.
Louis is fluent in Dutch and English; he reads German
