Sharon Oded
Sharon is a PhD researcher at RILE, taking part in the European Doctorate of Law and Economics (EDLE). He has been a RILE member since 2007 after graduating (cum laude) from the European Master of Law and Economics (EMLE). He also holds an LL.M (cum laude) in Commercial Law from Bar-Ilan University, Israel, and an LL.B (cum laude) from “Sha’arei Mishpat” College of Law, Israel.
In 2001 Sharon has been admitted to the Israeli Bar association as a qualified lawyer. Since then he worked as a lawyer for leading Israeli law firms, specializing in antitrust and commercial law and litigation. In addition, in 2003-2005 Sharon represented the Israeli Ministry of Environmental Protection in enforcement actions against environmental violations. In 2004 - 2007 Sharon served as an editorial team member of an Israeli law journal specializing in competition law and economics developments. In 2004 - 2006 Sharon was a member of the Competition Committee of the Israeli Bar Association, which provides policy recommendations to the Israeli parliament in the area of competition Law.
In his PhD research Sharon focuses on Corporate Internal Enforcement Systems. The research is aimed at exploring a welfare-enhancing integration of internal enforcement programs in business corporations into the general enforcement policy. Sharon is promoted by Prof. Michael G. Faure and Prof. Roger J. van den Bergh. He is expected to accomplish his PhD in 2011. As part of his teaching activities, Sharon has been teaching a Basic Law crash course for the EMLE students, dealing with comparative law and an introduction to the European Union legal system.
